Rotary Winterswijk, eastern Netherlands, has again welcomed Homeless Child director Bas Wiersma as their guest on January 11. This service club has been supporting us relentlessly for the past four years and one of their members spends two months each year to volunteer with the children in Honduras.
Some Rotary members have walked the New York marathon in November 2007 and thanks to their enormous efforts they have not only made the finish, they have also collected 26.200 euro with fund raising activities. The money was equally divided between Homeless Child and a local hospice: De Lelie.
We are profoundly grateful to all Rotary members for their continued efforts to support us and to help offer the poorest, most neglected children of El Progreso, Honduras, a chance of a worthy future. Our deepest thanks of course are for the runners themselves!
