The hondurans celebrate independence day on September 15, like Americans do on July 4.
This year was the first time that Proniño youth participated. The older boys walked in the front, each carrying the flag of a Central American country. But some of the heroes, in fact, were among the smaller boys: seven of them were elected best pupils of their classes by their teachers. Quite an achievement indeed, and especially so if you know that most of them lived on the streets only a few years ago!
